This space allows you to slow down, feel grounded, and fully engage in your therapy work without distractions. I currently see clients in person in El Dorado Hills and Roseville.
Core Areas of Focus
Trauma & PTSD Treatment for Teens and Adults
I specialize in trauma therapy for adults and teens who feel stuck in the effects of past experiences. These experiences include hypervigilance and emotional numbness. They also involve panic, intrusive memories, or difficulty trusting themselves and others. Trauma can affect both the mind and body. It often appears as anxiety, relationship struggles, or a constant feeling of being on edge.
In therapy, we use evidence-based trauma treatments to safely process painful memories. Techniques like EMDR and Brainspotting help calm the nervous system. This may include:
- Reducing the emotional charge of traumatic experiences
- Learning grounding and regulation skills when triggers arise
- Rebuilding a sense of safety and control
- Strengthening self-compassion and confidence
What Causes Trauma?
Traumatic experiences can arise from various sources, including accidents, medical trauma, childhood abuse, and emotional abuse. While these experiences can influence your current life, healing is possible. Evidence-based techniques like EMDR help with this healing. EMDR involves a structured protocol for trauma reprocessing. Additionally, Brainspotting addresses emotional pain more directly and with a less formal setup.
Anxiety, OCD, and Panic Treatment for Teens and Adults
I offer specialized treatment for anxiety, panic, and depression that often develop alongside trauma and chronic stress. Many clients feel trapped in cycles of worry, intrusive thoughts, emotional shutdown, self-criticism, or feeling constantly on edge. Therapy focuses on both symptom relief and deeper healing. It helps you understand how trauma and anxiety live in the nervous system. You will also build long-term strategies for emotional balance and confidence.
Our work may include:
- Learning tools to calm panic and nervous system overwhelm
- Identifying and shifting unhelpful thought patterns and internal narratives
- Reducing triggers and emotional reactivity
- Building emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills
- Strengthening daily routines that support mood and resilience
I Can’t Stop Worrying
For anxiety-driven patterns such as OCD, panic, phobias, and persistent rumination, I use several therapies. These include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ERP helps interrupt cycles of fear and avoidance by gently facing triggers in a safe, supportive way. ACT helps you relate differently to anxious thoughts. It builds psychological flexibility and guides you toward actions aligned with your values rather than fear.

EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized, evidence-based therapy. It is designed to help individuals heal from trauma. It also addresses anxiety and distressing life experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements, sounds, or taps—to reprocess difficult memories. The brain processes these memories in a way that reduces their emotional intensity. This process helps clients move beyond feeling “stuck” in painful experiences. They gain new perspectives, often leading to a greater sense of peace and resilience.
The benefits of EMDR are wide-reaching. Research has shown it to be highly effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It also alleviates symptoms of anxiety, depression, phobias, and grief. Many clients experience faster relief compared to other modalities. They find that EMDR helps them release old patterns and emotional blocks. These blocks once felt overwhelming. By reprocessing memories in a safe and supportive environment, clients often report improved self-esteem. They also notice better relationships and a renewed ability to engage fully in daily life.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a gentle yet powerful therapy. It helps people process and release the effects of trauma, stress, and unresolved emotional experiences. It works on the understanding that your gaze affects your emotions. Certain eye positions can access parts of the brain where unprocessed memories and emotions are stored. A trained therapist supports the process. Brainspotting helps bring these hidden experiences to the surface. They can then be safely processed and resolved.
Many clients find Brainspotting especially helpful when they feel “stuck.” They may be overwhelmed by emotions that don’t seem to go away through talking alone. It can reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and even physical tension linked to stress. Brainspotting works with both the body and the mind. This allows deep healing to take place. It helps people feel calmer, more grounded, and more connected to themselves. Clients often describe feeling a greater sense of clarity, relief, and empowerment as they move ahead in their lives.
